Outfitter #742

Cook Inlet Halibut and Salmon Lodge

This four-star lodge sits a stone’s throw away from Alaska’s Cook Inlet.  It has the closest access to saltwater fishing for salmon and halibut in all of Alaska!  You can be fishing within site of the lodge!  This area is also known for its outstanding freshwater fishing on the Kenai and other area rivers for salmon and giant rainbow trout!  Combination halibut and salmon trips are split into two five hour fishing sessions.  Depending on the tides, you’ll head out from the lodge for salmon in the morning, then back out for halibut after brunch/lunch back at the lodge or vice versa.  This makes for a prolific and most often “box full of fish” day!  This unique location, right on the beach, gives guests quick and easy access to some of Alaska’s best saltwater fishing.  Every Kenai and Kasilof king salmon runs past the lodge en route to their spawning grounds.  Additionally, the fishing for halibut takes place in relatively shallow water (60’-90’) and within 2-4 miles from the lodge.  So, no long boat rides or rough seas!  The season kicks off in May for king salmon and lasts into late June.  These Spring kings are plentiful with thousands of fish swimming past the lodge on their way back north to spawn.  Later in July means the return of the silver salmon.  Thousands upon thousands run past the lodge.  The silver fishing can be fast and furious!  As an optional ad on, excellent freshwater fishing for salmon, rainbow trout, and dolly varden is also available.  Other activities available include bear viewing fly outs to Brooks Falls and other areas.  The lodge can accommodate up to twenty guests.  Each guest room has two double beds, private bath, well stocked mini refrigerator, and daily maid service.  Unwind after a day on the water in the billiards room, sauna, on the porch overlooking the water, or the beachfront fire pit.  All of this follows mouth watering three course meals and homemade desserts prepared by a gourmet chef.  The bar is always stocked with top shelf liquor, wine, and seasonal micro brews.  Give us a call to plan this incredible Alaska fishing trip.
