Do-It-Yourself Alaska Yukon Moose Hunt


GREAT DIY HUNT OPPORTUNITY! Alaska hunting can be a very rewarding experience. Alaska offers 2 options for the hardy do it yourself hunters. All this outfitter's hunts are all inclusive from Anchorage and return too Anchorage. Flights, camp, food, game bags, camp equipment, rafts, and everything except your personal gear and the driving required to get to your hunt pickup location. Typically these hunts are 10 days, and can be lengthened or shortened. The Spike Camp – Fully outfitted hunt includes a comfortable tent camp, cots, food, all cooking utensils, flight from Anchorage to camp and return. You fly into their main camp with the air charter company, then they take you into the even more remote hunting camps by Super Cub. Camps are checked periodically during your hunt. All you bring is your hunting gear and drive to fill your tags. Booking with a hunting partner is required, and no more than 4 hunters to a group per camp. They don’t mix groups, and the only people in your camp are your hunting partners. The Float Trip – Same Hunt prices are available as a float hunt. Same dates as well. Camps will be lighter to be more packable and faster to set up. Double occupancy required. Moose, caribou, wolf, and black bear.

Physical Requirement Level

Level 3 - These hunts are a true wilderness experience and are usually conducted on horseback, while hunting species such as elk, moose, bear; also, some mountain lion and African Cape buffalo. Difficult to extreme hiking and backpacking can be involved.
