Our outfitter has exclusive access to 20,000 acres of prime elk hunting. This private New Mexico ranch with a 80% archery shot opportunity and 90 +-% rifle shot opportunity on 6x6 bulls averaging 300 – 320 with top end bulls going 350+. Part of this is due to this property runs zero cattle, it is all for the wildlife; elk, mule deer, black bear and mountain lion.
This incredible ranch is bordered by several of the States famed land marks and ranches including: The Vermejo Park, The Philmont Boy Scout ranch and the Once-in-a-lifetime draw area - Valle Vidal.
With elevations in the 7,500- to 9,000' elevation it is modest elk country physically. It's comprised of pinion, juniper and pine trees with immense grassy valleys with multiple water holes and couple creeks flowing through the ranch making it ideally suited for glassing. The rut will find you keying in on the strongest bugle and your professional guide will talk with the elk and work on bringing a big herd bull in range.
If you simply don’t care to run the hills any longer, you may hunt over one of the many waterhole as the bulls readily come to water in the evening to quench their thirst.
The main historic cowboy’s cabin located right on the ranch features a nice fireplace, family style dining room/kitchen and 5-bedrooms giving hunters plenty of space. This is a traditional remote elk hunt with the convenience of modern Wi-Fi!. Elk makes excellent table-fare and when your bull is tagged, there is an onsite walk in cooler to cool off your venison prior to leaving for home.

Physical Requirement Level
Level 2 - These hunts are mostly conducted on private ranches. Species include mule deer, elk, antelope; additionally, some caribou and African plains game hunts. Moderate to light hiking each day in semi-mountainous terrain.
