Outfitter # 243

Afton, Iowa Whitetails

Iowa is arguably the #1 state in the U.S. for trophy whitetail hunting. It's limited-draw for its non-resident deer licenses and that's a major factor in this state’s high trophy producing potential. Name another state that takes, on average, 3 preference points (hunting in year 4) to archery hunt the November rut. These southern IA camps just don’t have the hunter numbers you’ll see in other Midwestern states. WTA TAGS recently visited one such outfitter located near Afton, IA – a mecca for world-class whitetail hunting. The amount of quality deer ground in relation to the low hunting pressure made this experience a real pleasure. This is truly a high-quality situation that you should experience for yourself. Don’t waste your hard earned preference points on an average hunt. This outfitter has it all – some of the very best whitetail country available, extremely knowledgeable & hospitable guides, as well as nice accommodations and home cooked meals.  You'll have access to about 3,500 private acres of picture perfect whitetail habitat.  The habitat, which consists of everything from wooded draws to river bottom and agriculture, is ideal for growing big mature whitetails. We plan to run three bow hunts here with four hunters at a time.  We then plan to run one shotgun hunt followed by the late muzzleloader hunt, again with four hunters at a time.  Stands consist of predominantly 17'-21' ladder stands for the archery hunts to ground blinds and tower blinds for the gun hunts.  These fine attributes make this the perfect experience to cash-in your hard-earned preference points.

You will fly into Des Moines IA or Omaha NE where you will be picked-up by the outfitter and transferred to camp.
