Western Colorado’s units 10, 21 and 22 have long been famed for their high-quality mule deer hunting. This veteran outfitter boasts 20+ years of success within these areas. Unit 10

Elevation: 6,000-9,000 feet

General Information: The unit is largely dominated with sage covered landscapes, cedar, service berry, and limited pines. Overall, the unit is extremely accessible and enjoyable to hunt within regardless of physicals abilities.

Hunts here will be conducted primarily on a mixture of public and smaller private ranches. One can expect to spend many hours glassing areas known to hold big bucks.

Trophy expectations: 170-190+

Season: Early September- Archery/ Late October- November (Rifle)

Non-Residents Preference Points Required To Draw: Archery (22+), Muzz (22+),  2nd Rifle (25+), 3rd Rifle (28+)

Resident Preference Points Required To Draw: Archery (11+), Muzz (11+),  2nd Rifle (15+), 3rd Rifle (18+)

Lodging: Small cabins located at the outfitters headquarters where family-style meals will be prepared daily.

Unit 21

Elevation: 4,000-9,000 feet

General Information: The topography within the unit will vary greatly depending on the elevation. The higher portions of the unit contain large pine, fur, and aspen trees while lower elevations are comprised of rim rock canyons with cedar and pinon trees.

Hunts here will be conducted primarily on a mixture of public and smaller private ranches. One can expect to spend many hours glassing areas known to hold big bucks. Overall, this is not a physically demanding hunt, but one should be capable of hiking 1-3 miles per day.

Trophy expectations: 170-180+

Season: Early September- Archery/ Late October- November (Rifle)

Non-Residents Preference Points Required To Draw: Archery (5+), 2nd Rifle (10+), 3rd Rifle (22+)

Resident Preference Points Required To Draw: Archery (4+), 2nd Rifle (5+), 3rd Rifle (11+)

Lodging: Small cabins located at the outfitters headquarters where family-style meals will be prepared daily.

Unit 22

Elevation: 5,000-9,000 feet

General Information: The topography within the unit where hunts are conducted consists of large canyons containing large amounts of oak brush and a mixture of timber.

Hunts here will primarily be conducted on a large 20,000+ acre private ranch as well as smaller adjoining ranches and public lands. A road network is present on the ranch which allows hunters to travel efficiently from one glassing area to the nest in search of a suitable buck. Hunters should be capable of hiking 1-3 miles per day on this trip.

Trophy expectations: 175-185+

Season: Late October- November (Rifle)

Non-Residents Preference Points Required To Draw: 2nd Rifle (0), 3rd Rifle (0+), 4th Rifle (20+)

Resident Preference Points Required To Draw: 2nd Rifle (0+), 3rd Rifle (0+), 4th Rifle (10+)

Lodging: A nice camp will be utilized as lodging for these hunts. Camp consists of three all-seasons trailers, each contains a master suite as well as two sperate bedrooms that share a bath, living room, and kitchen. Home cooked meals will be served daily. WIFI is available in camp.

Transportation

Day 1: Travel from home to the outfitters headquarters near Rangely, CO. If flying you will need to arrive into Grand Junction CO., Hayden CO., or Denver CO. where you will rent a vehicle.

Day 2-6: Hunting days.

Day 7: Travel from camp to home. Please plan to depart by 9:00 AM.
