Iowa is arguably the #1 state in the U.S. for trophy whitetail hunting. In-place is a limited-draw for its non-resident deer licenses and that plays a major factor in this state’s high trophy producing potential. Name another state that takes, on average, five preference points to archery hunt the November rut. For the most part, the deer camps in Iowa just don’t have the hunter numbers you’ll see in other Midwestern states.
WTA TAGS has been working with one such outfitter located near Afton, IA – a mecca for world-class whitetail hunting. The amount of quality deer ground in relation to the low hunting pressure will make this experience a real pleasure. This is truly a high-quality situation that you should experience for yourself. Don’t waste your hard earned preference points on an average hunt. This outfitter has it all: some of the very best/low pressured whitetail country available, extremely knowledgeable and hospitable guides, and nice accommodations and home-cooked meals.
You’ll have access to over 5,000 acres of private, heavily-timbered whitetail country. The habitat, which consists of everything from deep wooded draws to river bottom and agriculture, is ideal for growing big mature whitetails. Stands consist of, predominantly very comfortable 21 foot Millennium ladder stands. Over the past 12+ years the vast majority of WTA clients have submitted phenomenal post hunt reports and cannot wait to build the necessary points to return to this whitetail destination. Most report, at a minimum, at least having an encounter with a 160″+ buck during the course of their six-day hunt.
You will fly into Des Moines IA or Omaha NE where you will be picked up by the outfitter and transferred to camp.
If you need assistance in building valuable preference points in the great state of Iowa, WTA TAGS can help. Or if you already have the necessary points required to draw, don’t hesitate to book a spot with this top-notch outfitter.
