These bears are only hunted during the fall season. There is no spring bear hunting in this area.
All hunts are 6 full days of hunting, arrive the day prior and depart the day after.
Located in the non-baiting area of NW Alberta sits one of the best big bear destinations in all of Canada! You heard right, there is no baiting of bear in this zone of Alberta. All hunts are spot and stalk in and around the vast oats and small grain ag fields butted right up against the forest. The bear population in this area is strong and being a 2 bear area, hunters can really take their time and find a true giant! These bears cause serious havoc and destruction in these fields throughout the summer months, so much that farmers want them out. The bears build massive trail systems in and out, and while in the field eating, just them rolling and stomping down the grain, can have a tremendous affect on the farmers overall harvest. This is a great opportunity for a unique, interactive spot and stalk hunt for the serious hunter looking for that next level black bear. Color phase bears are prevalent, but no matter what the color, maturity will be the deciding factor on whether or not that bear is harvested.
Lodging at this bear camp is clean and comfortable with private rooms and shared bathrooms. Home cooked meals will be served daily and all hunts are done on a 2×1 basis. This is a great outdoor experience and a wonderful alternative to a traditional bait site bear hunt. Call WTA today to learn more about this hunt and check availability.
