This lodge-based hunt is in Game Management Unit 4 on the northwestern end of Chichagof Island. The lodge provides the perfect home base after a long day of hunting. There are three seaside cabins with full amenities, a lodge with a common area to trade hunting stories, and a kitchen that provides home-cooked meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The lodge is perched on the edge of the cove with lots of glass on the seaside, allowing unobstructed views across Icy Strait. It is not unusual to see bald eagles, sea otters, harbor seals, and humpback whales out your window. The lodge at Gull Cove Alaska is the gathering point at the beginning and end of each day. With spectacular views of the Fairweather Range across Icy Strait, our guests unwind and socialize in the comfort of the lodge’s open atmosphere.
We access the hunt area in our 18′ boats. Â Traveling and glassing the many miles of coastline and estuaries within the guide area. Evenings are spent looking over grass flats. We will also spend a couple of days away from the lodge hunting from a commercial fishing boat the Mara. This allows us to access other parts of the guide area and see some great country.
There are two hunters in camp at the same time, each hunter will have their own guide.
