Eastern Colorado – Spot & Stalk Archery Mule Deer

Eastern Colorado has firmly established itself as one of the Wests’ elite destinations for archery hunters in search of trophy mule deer. Such a track record can be largely contributed to the fact this area is dominated by large, privately owned farms and ranches. These lands are strictly managed to allow bucks to mature to their maximum genetic potential. The landscape will be comprised of rolling hills containing native grasses, sagebrush and yucca with intermittent irrigated and dry-land crop ground. All of these factors create a near perfect environment for growing trophy mule deer bucks as well as being extremely conducive to harvesting said bucks with archery equipment.

These hunts are strategically scheduled for mid-November which coincides with the peak of the rut and only increases your chances of success. Hunters can expect to spend much of their time glassing vast expanses of land in search of a trophy buck. Once located, a stalk can be planned and executed upon with the assistance of your veteran guide. Shot opportunities on bucks ranging from 170-190 are near 100%. This outfitter has historically produced three to five bucks a season that surpass the magical 200 inch mark.  Archers must expect shots in the 40-60 yard range.

This hunt does require you to draw a tag.  Historically clients have been 100% successful in the draw with one preference point. Landowner vouchers are issued but they are not always readily available.
