3rd Rifle: November 9-13
1st Late: December 7-11 or December 13-17
Nestled between the town of Estes Park and the famed Rocky Mountain National Park, you’ll discover this elk paradise. Though the ranch’s deeded properties only total 3,000 acres, it occupies a prime location and is arguably the premier elk ranch in the unit. Hunters not only have access to this elk sanctuary but also to the surrounding National Forest lands, which experience limited hunting pressure and offer first-class public land opportunities.
This ranch provides an excellent opportunity for those with physical restrictions. A developed road network, combined with elk habituated to vehicles due to the neighboring national park, creates the perfect scenario for approaching elk with a vehicle without fearing to send them fleeing into the next canyon. For those who prefer to stretch their legs, hiking into areas within the forest is also an option. These hunts target quality bulls in the 290-330 range. While the ranch has produced several bulls over 350 over the years, this is not the norm.
