This unique offering is an excellent choice for hunters who appreciate a challenging but rewarding hunt. This European brown bear hunt takes place in Estonia, located south of Finland on the Baltic Sea. Estonia is renowned for being one of the best-kept secrets of European hunting. The season for bear runs from August–October, with the beginning of August being the best time. Later in the season, hunters will experience more difficult hunting when the bears do not leave the forests.

The hunt is for brown bear, but will also allow clients to hunt a variety of other species on a trophy fee basis. Popular options are a day of woodcock hunting or a combination of roe deer and wild boar. We will work with you to ensure you have a remarkable experience.

During this hunt the hunter and any potential observers would be introduced to the traditional hunting methods of Estonia, where hunting takes place in high stands and spot and stalk. With comfortable accommodations, it is an ideal hunt to bring a companion and combine a tour of Tallinn, Estonia’s capital city.

Hunters can expect a level of service that only Europe can provide, while still experiencing a truly special hunting adventure.

Please inquire for additional dates and please be aware of additional trophy animals including wild boar, roe deer, geese, ducks, and woodcock. Combinations are gladly arranged.

Type of Hunt

Brown Bear stand hunting is the only form of bear hunting allowed in Estonia. The hunt takes place in our hunting areas where refuges have been created specifically for bear, and they are fed from early April to late October. From late September, bears may also be found in oat fields.

Bear hunting takes place near feeders and oat fields and shooting is done from watchtowers (tree stands) which hide the hunter out of sight and smell of the bear. The hunter will have to wait patiently from 6 p.m. and may require the hunter to spend up to 8 hours in the high seat.

The best time for bear hunting is in August, when bear can be found solely feeding in the woods.

2 or 3 bears can usually be sighted and shot within five days. The shooting distance is usually not more than 60 meters and it is recommended to use the highest caliber with which the hunter feels comfortable as well as loads (bullets) suitable for the game.
