Hunt elusive Merriam’s in the Chama Valley of north central New Mexico with one of the state’s most legendary outfitters. This picturesque region boasts a healthy population of Merriam’s turkey on the rivers, streams and mountain canyons. The hunting property encompasses over 36,000 acres of the Jicarilla Apache Nation tribal lands of the San Juan Mountains of northern NM. Hunts are conducted by experienced guides by spot and stalk and calling methods. Spring hunts are exciting as this is the prime time to call in and decoy mature strutting toms. Accommodations are a first class 27,000 square foot lodge with private rooms and gourmet meals served. Due to the high demand these hunts typically book up quickly. This is the perfect hunt to kick off your hunting year in style. Observers are welcome for an additional fee.

Fly to Albaquerque NM, rent a car and drive to Chama NM.
Easy: Somewhat easy walking when it comes to physicality. Minimal walking or hiking and terrain is very accessible. Mostly hunting from blinds or tree stands.
Moderate: Physicality is somewhat moderate to advanced. Spot and stalk method of hunting as well as some hunting from blinds. Terrain can vary from prairies to mountains at higher elevations.
Difficult: Requires an advanced degree of physical endurance. Terrain is typically more mountainous and hunting can take place at higher elevation.
Extreme: Most difficult and physically demanding hunts. Requires advanced to extreme endurance and terrain or game pursued may involve dangerous situations.
