British Columbia’s famed Vancouver Island is home to some of the largest Black Bears in British Columbia. This outfitter’s hunting area is breathtaking and encompasses hundreds of square miles of pristine mountains, rivers, and valleys that flow into the Pacific Ocean. This seasoned outfitter offers both Spring and Fall Black Bear hunts. All hunts are fully guided with experienced guides by spot and stalk. During the spring, Bears are easily patterned after their winter hibernation as they head out to one of the many tidal estuaries, meadows, or recently logged areas to feed on succulent roots, grasses, and berry crops. They can also be found wandering the beaches at low tide looking for crabs or any other easy meals that are readily available. You and your guide will have use of small boats, trucks and ATVs to access remote areas of the island. Over the past years, this hunt has produced very high shot opportunities on trophy class bears.
This outfitter offers a variety of accommodation options primarily dependent on seasons, species, or personal preference. For those who prefer hunting in larger groups, traveling with non-hunting companions, or who just prefer the comforts of home, they have a beautiful ocean-front main lodge. This facility consists of 3 private waterfront cabins, equipped with their own private bathroom and each comfortably sleeping up to 4 guests. Meals are served in a separate building that houses a commercial kitchen, laundry room, and spacious dining room. Wi-Fi is also available for those who need to stay in contact with the outside world.
For those who prefer the path less traveled, they also have a custom-built 40′, live-aboard landing craft that comfortably sleeps 4 (2 guides + 2 hunters) and gives access to even the most remote corners of their concession.
In addition to the main lodge, the cabins and the boat also offer smaller, fully-equipped satellite camps.
