July – September
Greenland is an outdoorsman’s paradise. While it is the largest island, it has a population of just over 50,000 residents! It is home to a variety of wildlife, birdlife, marine life, rocky coastlines, mountains, glaciers, rivers, and streams.
This action packed fishing adventure is for Arctic Char in the rivers and lakes, and for Atlantic Cod in the ocean outside of camp. This is a fisherman’s paradise, with all the conveniences of home in a otherworldly area. You have to see it to be believe it.
Greenland is the wildest place on earth for Arctic Char fishing. There are thousands of rivers and lakes – full of Arctic Char. Because of the enormous territory and relatively few inhabitants, many of these fishing areas are hardly fished at all. Some rivers have not see an angler – ever.
The fishing is on a voluntary catch and release basis, mostly light tackle fishing.  The size of the fish varies from 1 – 7 lbs + and there is plenty of it. The local guides are excellent and know the area extremely well. The river mouths are often very productive when the char runs up the rivers. The lakes that are connected to the ocean, by clear rivers, provide the best fishing. The fjords are also extremely productive in the early part of the season. Char starts to gather in the fjords near the river mouths in the end of June and begin to move into the rivers in the beginning of July.
The camp consists of 10 fully modern double occupancy cabins along with a main cabin that serves as the central gathering place for delicious meals. Camp is located with spectacular views of the water and surrounding mountains and has running water, shared bathroom facilities with flush toilets, hot showers, and even a sauna. The camp is first and foremost built for hunting and fishing, but is also a perfect destination for exploring the endless fjords, glaciers, and the magnificent beauty of Greenland. Non-hunting companions are more than welcome! Extend your visit while traveling through Iceland and enjoy the sights and sounds of this small country including the many hot springs, nightlife, and fine restaurants.
