Experience the thrill of a true Western adventure with our guided Idaho horseback elk hunts. Nestled deep in the rugged backcountry of Idaho. These week-long hunts begin with a scenic horseback ride into remote camp, where you’ll stay in comfortable wall tents. You will enjoy hearty meals and spectacular scenery.
The outfitter has good guides and good sure footed horses. Hunting is done on foot and horseback from the remote camp. Depending on the season and elk activity you will be calling and/or spot-and-stalking the elk. They offer both archery and rifle hunts with good success rates. This hunt is about the experience and hunting elk more than the trophy size, with the average elk scoring around 260″. While this is not considered a “trophy” elk hunt. They do occasionally harvest a giant. The outfitter has tags so you don’t have to draw or apply. Call WTA today.

Day 1: Ride into camp and settle in.
Day 2-6: Hunt days
Day 7: Hunt in the morning then ride out that afternoon.
Hunt Style
Physical Level:
Easy: Somewhat easy walking when it comes to physicality. Minimal walking or hiking and terrain is very accessible. Mostly hunting from blinds or tree stands.
Moderate: Physicality is somewhat moderate to advanced. Spot and stalk method of hunting as well as some hunting from blinds. Terrain can vary from prairies to mountains at higher elevations.
Difficult: Requires an advanced degree of physical endurance. Terrain is typically more mountainous and hunting can take place at higher elevation.
Extreme: Most difficult and physically demanding hunts. Requires advanced to extreme endurance and terrain or game pursued may involve dangerous situations.
