Hunting Javelina in the rolling mountainous landscape of Arizona is both challenging and incredibly fun. This is also a great way to extend your hunting season, as these hunts occur January – March.
Our outfitter, located in northern Arizona, near the town of Seligman, offers an affordable three-day, lodge-based hunt with excellent meals. The Javelina population in this part of the state is booming! These hunts are fully guided, and the guides you will be hunting with grew up chasing these elusive peccaries. Each morning you will depart the lodge via 4×4 and drive to vantage points to begin glassing. It’s an all-day affair. Once a herd is located, you will plan your stock with wind direction taken into consideration. While rifle hunting is very popular, Javelina generally have poor eyesight making bow, handgun and muzzleloader hunting all fantastic options as well. At the end of each day, you will return to the comfortable lodge where barbeques, fire pits and stories of the day make for an awesome evening.
If you are looking to break-up the dog days of winter and want to spend time in temperatures in the 50’s and 60’s, and are looking for a super fun affordable adventure, consider traveling to Arizona to hunt this unique species. And, of course, javelina make phenomenal mounts!
