Mid November thru January
These hunts are conducted in the famed Caribou region of British Columbia. Canadian lynx densely inhabit the boreal forests before they give way to the amazing west-slope of the Caribou mountains. From the famous breaks of the Fraser River, to the giant snow-covered fir trees and gently rolling hills, clients can expect stunning winter scenery coupled with easy accessible terrain. This is a great hunt for sportsmen & women of almost any physical capability. The use of hounds is the primary hunting tactic. Early mornings start with a quick breakfast before we hit the roads in search of tracks. Hunts are typically conducted out of 4×4 trucks with snowmobiles and ATV’s on board should they be required. Lynx are densely populated throughout the hunting areas and you can expect to encounter multiple fresh tracks daily. Once a fresh track is located and evaluated to be that of a mature cat, the hunt really begins the hounds are released. Lynx are a favorite of the 3 cat species to pursue, they make for a worthy challenge even for the most seasoned lynx hounds. After a hard day hunting you can rest and recover beside a hot wood stove in a home style lodge. The meals are home cooked and fantastic, don’t expect to lose any weight on this hunt. The success on Lynx has been 100% for several years now.
