Experience the ultimate winter adventure deep in the legendary North Maine Woods. This all-inclusive trip takes you to a remote lakeside cabin on beautiful Spider Lake, where world-class ice fishing, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable snowmobiling combine to create a true Maine wilderness experience.
Located in northwestern Maine, approximately three hours from Bangor International Airport and two hours beyond Millinocket, this adventure begins where the pavement ends. After traveling the historic Golden Road beneath the shadow of Mount Katahdin, guests journey deep into the wilderness before making the final ride into camp by snowmobile or tracked side-by-side. For those new to snowmobiling, a brief safety and operating lesson is provided before the scenic ride into camp.
Your home for the week is a classic Maine sporting camp located directly on the shores of Spider Lake. Originally part of the historic Macannamac Camps and once owned by renowned Maine Game Warden pilot Jack McPhee, these cabins offer an authentic North Woods experience with modern comforts.
The camp features comfortable sleeping accommodations, a fully equipped kitchen area, hot showers, generator power, and all bedding provided. While the cabin maintains its rustic charm, guests enjoy the conveniences needed for a comfortable stay in the wilderness.
Spider Lake is known for its healthy populations of native brook trout, lake trout, and burbot (cusk). Brook trout commonly range from 14–20 inches, while lake trout regularly exceed 20 inches and can reach over five pounds.
