Late April through October.
The tradition of the Maine Sporting Camp life is alive and well, thriving in fact, at this remote gem nestled in the Grand Lake Stream area of northern Maine. Fishermen will enjoy being guided by licensed Maine Guides for smallmouth bass and landlocked salmon, utilizing the “Grand Laker” boats, designed and built locally. These are spacious, stable craft from which you’ll spend the day searching the gin clear waters for bass in an environment not found anywhere else. Anglers can expect catches exceeding 20+ fish daily, oftentimes many more, and you’ll also have the opportunity to catch some truly noteworthy trophy fish.
Speaking of noteworthy fish, Grand Lake Stream is also home to the largest population of landlocked salmon in North America. A true bucket list fish, it is genetically identical to the Atlantic Salmon, and best of all it acts just like it’s larger anadromous brother. When hooked they put on an aerial display like no other freshwater fish. This fly-fishing only water is spectacular, so in and of itself the landlocked salmon is worth the trip.
You’ll have the opportunity to witness loons, owls, eagle, and perhaps even moose, deer and bear while traveling the lakes, ponds and remote logging roads of this region.
