This spot and stalk bear hunt takes place on a huge private ranch in north-central Montana. The bear population on this property is high and so is the color variation of these bears. Since baiting is not allowed in Montana, all of the bear hunting is done by spot and stalk. You and your guide will get up high on the ridge tops and spend the day glassing the valleys and green hillsides untill a good bear is located. Then the stalk is on! This hunt can be pysical in nature so it pays to be in good shape. So, if you are the type of hunter who enjoys this style of hunt do not miss this amazing opportunity. These spring hunts take place in May when the foliage begins to turn green and the bears are in the rut. Fly to Great Falls Montana where you will be picked up and transported to camp.
If you are driving you will meet up with a representative of the outfitter in Cascade Montana, and then proceed to camp.
Hunt Style
Physical Level:
Easy: Somewhat easy walking when it comes to physicality. Minimal walking or hiking and terrain is very accessible. Mostly hunting from blinds or tree stands.
Moderate: Physicality is somewhat moderate to advanced. Spot and stalk method of hunting as well as some hunting from blinds. Terrain can vary from prairies to mountains at higher elevations.
Difficult: Requires an advanced degree of physical endurance. Terrain is typically more mountainous and hunting can take place at higher elevation.
Extreme: Most difficult and physically demanding hunts. Requires advanced to extreme endurance and terrain or game pursued may involve dangerous situations.
