This hunt takes place in Northwestern Montana with one of WTA’s long time outfitters. This hunt region of Montana borders the province of BC. In recent years, the Gray Wolf population here has grown significantly to hunt-able numbers.
This family owned and run outfitter is offering limited dates for wolf hunting. Wolf hunting is highly debated but an effective and ethical way to maintain pack objectives set forth by game and fish biologists. Wolves are hunted here by employing a combination of calling techniques. Using howls and distress calls to appeal to the wolves territorial, and top predator status creates a curiosity that pulls in the pack or a single animal. This outfitter has reported 50% shot opportunities over the past couple years on mature wolves ranging in color phase from black, gray and white. Hunters need to be prepared for cold harsh conditions.
