Archery Season: September 03- October 16
Rifle Season: 22- November 27
Few ranches in the west can compare to this astounding 93,000 contiguous acre tract in Southeastern Montana. Within the ranch you will find over 20 miles of river bottom, creek beds, and riparian zones where scattered stands of large cottonwoods exist. Within these river valleys a large complex of irrigated and dryland crops are also found as well as a network of sub-irrigated meadows. Once you climb out of the river valley you will find yourself in pine covered hills that contain an extensive man-made water network and natural meadows. These attributes, coupled with limited off-take on a thriving herd, equate to some of the finest whitetail hunting found in the West.
The ranch will be extensively scouted prior to the hunting season with trail cameras as well as boots on the ground scouting trips. During the September & October archery season, hunts will primarily be conducted from tree stands and ground blinds. Early September will afford archers the best chance at taking a trophy buck, as they will still be on their summer pattern, predictively moving from their bedding areas to the agricultural.
Montana is one of very few states that allows rifle hunters access to prime rut dates. Rifle hunts will also be conducted from stands and blinds as well as glassing bucks and planning stalks which is unique to Western whitetail hunting. The ranch strictly targets mature bucks that will generally score 130-160 with multiple bucks over 170 being present on the ranch each year.
At the end of each day’s hunt you will return to an ample six bedroom, five bath lodge that contains all the amenities of home. Rooms will consist of a mixture of single and double occupancy. A full time cook will ensure delicious meals are served each day as well as ensure a clean and comfortable environment is available to relax and trade stories from the day’s hunt.
