April 15-May 15
Eastern Montana’s Yellowstone River Valley is home to a thriving population of pure Merriam’s turkeys. The river bottom is lined with cottonwoods and tamaracks, and as you move away from the river, crop fields stretch along the corridor. This outfitter leases approximately 5 miles of river bottom and the neighboring crop fields, ensuring plenty of birds for a successful and enjoyable hunt.
Hunts will combine run-and-gun techniques with sitting in blinds, offering a variety of experiences. Trips can be tailored to meet individual needs and limitations. Compared to other hunts, this Merriam’s turkey hunt is a low-impact option, with relatively mild terrain. Archers are welcome but must hunt from blinds unless otherwise discussed before the hunt. Each hunter may harvest two birds.
Lodging is provided in a comfortable three-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin located close to the property. A hearty breakfast and home-cooked dinner will be served daily, with a light lunch available as well.
License & tags can be purchased online prior to arrival. Hunters will be responsible for purchasing one Region 7 turkey tag and one General turkey tag. Tags can be printed at home once purchased.
