As both the outfitter and ranch owner, WTA TAGSÂ takes pride in offering one of the highest-quality mule deer hunting experiences Central Montana has to offer. This is a family-run operation where attention to detail and a commitment to excellence are at the core of everything we do.
Your hunt takes place during the peak of the rut on over 15,000 acres of private land, plus exclusive access to 30,000+ acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land—much of which is largely inaccessible to the public. The terrain varies from steep canyons and rolling hills to wide-open natural meadows, providing the ideal habitat for mature, trophy-class mule deer bucks.
Hunters will access most areas by pickup truck, with some hiking required to reach prime glassing spots and stalk opportunities. Hunts can be customized to accommodate all physical abilities, but participants should be prepared to walk 1 to 4 miles per day. Like any true mule deer hunt, you’ll spend significant time glassing—methodically scanning the landscape with binoculars and spotting scopes to locate that perfect buck. Once spotted, your guide will coordinate a strategic stalk to close the distance. Expect shot opportunities ranging between 200 and 400 yards and expected trophies will range from 155-175+ inches.
After a full day in the field, return to a comfortable two-bedroom ranch house featuring double occupancy rooms and a shared bathroom. Enjoy hearty, home-cooked breakfasts and dinners, with sack lunches provided for your time in the field.
This tag can be drawn with zero bonus points, though it becomes a realistic draw with 4 or more points. For assistance with the Montana mule deer or elk draw, or if you have questions about this hunt, contact WTA TAGS at 1-800-755-TAGS (8247) or email us at TAGS@trophyadventures.com.
