A hunt in Nevada’s area 221-223 is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, here you will find trophy bulls that are sure to please the most discerning hunter. Realistically, you can expect to target bulls in the 350-380+, multiple bulls over 400 are taken in the unit yearly. This area has produced bulls such as this for decades and will continue to do so under Nevada’s stringent, and conservative management strategies.Â
This area varies from approximately 6,000-10,000 feet in elevation. At lower elevations you will encounter pines, junipers, and sage. As the elevation increases spruce, aspen and meadows will dominate the landscape. Portions of the area are physically demanding to access but overall the unit accessible to elk hunters of all abilities.Â
Hunting tactics will vary based on the season and weapon choice. Archery hunts will take place between late August and mid-September. The last ten days of the hunt will offer a great opportunity to experience bugling bulls that are receptive to calling. Muzzleloader season does take place in late October and early November with rifle hunts following in November and December, these hunts will utilize spot and stalk hunting tactics.
A tag for this hunt can be acquired in one of two ways, the first being through Nevada’s annual big-game draw or by purchasing a landowner voucher. Through WTA’s long-standing relationships with Nevada’s premier outfitters, we are able to offer a limited number of vouchers each season.

Lodging for this hunt will typically consist of modern camp trailers with home cooked meals.
Day 1: Travel from home to Las Vegas, NV. where you will rent a vehicle and drive to a pre-arranged meeting location near Pioche, NV. Please arrive early afternoon.
Day 2-6: Hunting days. Plan to be in the field all day.
Day 7: Travel from camp back to the airport to begin your trip home. Please plan to depart by 9:00 AM.
Easy: Somewhat easy walking when it comes to physicality. Minimal walking or hiking and terrain is very accessible. Mostly hunting from blinds or tree stands.
Moderate: Physicality is somewhat moderate to advanced. Spot and stalk method of hunting as well as some hunting from blinds. Terrain can vary from prairies to mountains at higher elevations.
Difficult: Requires an advanced degree of physical endurance. Terrain is typically more mountainous and hunting can take place at higher elevation.
Extreme: Most difficult and physically demanding hunts. Requires advanced to extreme endurance and terrain or game pursued may involve dangerous situations.
