More About The Hunt:
The Alaska-Yukon moose is one of the most sought-after big game trophies in North America, arguably the world. The lower reaches of the Yukon River in Western Alaska boast some of the best moose habitat and highest concentrations in the state. This hunt area is best accessed by boat via the countless tributaries and sloughs that feed the Yukon River drainage.
This unguided hunt offers marine transports to prime hunt locations along the Yukon and Innoko River drainages. Winding rivers and sloughs hold the promise of trophy moose around each bend. The tight nature of these twists makes for poor landing strips for float planes but is perfect for boat access.
Unguided hunts in the Alaskan bush are not for the faint of heart or the inexperienced hunter, but riverine hunts allow you and your hunt partner (must book in pairs) to explore miles of exceptional moose habitat via boat that would not be possible on foot. This is an extremely productive and fun method of hunting moose as it does not require physically demanding marches across miles of tundra and up-and-down mountains. Most moose are harvested within 200 yards of the riverbank, making it accessible for most hunters.
You will hunt from the comfort of your well stocked camp, to include: Arctic Oven heated tent with cots, food, chairs, tables, utensils, and other misc. camp supplies.
You will use a modern military spec inflatable boat with the latest Honda four stroke outboards to travel the countless miles of river and sloughs covering extraordinary distances every day searching for trophy bulls. Moose can be spotted on the riverbanks and shots taken while the boat is drifting or from shore. Most hunters will land the boat along the riverbank, then hike in a few hundred yards to scrape and call in search of bulls that hang in the willows off the river’s edge.
Wolf and Black bears may be taken at no additional cost with possession of proper tags.
