December – April
This 15,000-acre low-fence/free-range Nilgai hunt takes place in an area known as the Rio Grande Valley in the gulf coastal plains of South Texas. The ranch is located just south of the famed King Ranch in both Kennedy and Willacy counties of south Texas. Offering some of the most exciting safari-style, spot-and-stalk Nilgai hunting, roughly 85% of the bulls taken each season qualify for the SCI record book! Nilgai is the largest of the Antelope species and was introduced to this area of South Texas back in the early 1900s. The first pair was given as a gift to the owner of the King Ranch and they have flourished in the area of Texas since. Native to both India and Pakistan, a Nilgai bull will carry a weight of 600–850 pounds. They are one of the toughest, most elusive big game animals walking US soil and are not to be taken lightly when in pursuit!
Lodging on this adventure is located right on the ranch with 4 large guest rooms (double occupancy), each with its own bathroom. First-class, southern-style cooking is the norm. Top-of-the-line accommodations paired with exceptional hospitality and a formidable trophy in the Nilgai make for a great adventure. Call WTA today for availability.
