Where the rolling foothills of the Rockies meet the vast plains of south-central Alberta, both Mule deer and Whitetails prosper. This outfitter owns and has access to thousands of acres of prime deer habitat. He takes a minimal number of hunters each season; only 4 archery mule deer hunters and 4 rifle whitetail hunters will put pressure on these deer during the season. Realistic expectations for an archery mule deer in this part of Alberta are deer in the 150–170 class, and whitetails in the 140–150 class. Because of the vastness of this part of Alberta, you have a good chance of stumbling into a true giant, either Mule deer or Whitetail, on a hunt like this. This is a spot-and-stalk-style hunt with lots of road miles and time behind the glass! Once a target buck has been spotted, the stalk is on. This is a very active hunt for the archer and a great long-range game for the rifle hunt, but the shot distance is 100% at the comfort level of the hunter.
Accommodations are cabin-style, right on the property, and home-cooked meals will fill your day. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone looking for a low-pressure personal outdoor experience with great trophy potential. Because of the limited tags, these hunts go fast, so please plan ahead and contact your WTA consultant today.
