Where the rolling foothills of the Rockies meet the vast plains of south-central Alberta, both Mule deer and Whitetails prosper. This outfitter owns and has access to thousands of acres of prime deer habitat. He takes a minimal number of hunters each season; only 4 archery mule deer hunters and 4 rifle whitetail hunters will put pressure on these deer during the season. Realistic expectations for an archery mule deer in this part of Alberta are deer in the 150-170 class, and whitetails in the 140-150 class. Because of the vastness of this part of Alberta, you have a good chance of stumbling into a true giant, either Mule deer or Whitetail on a hunt like this. This is a spot and stalk-style hunt with lots of road miles and time behind the glass! Once a target buck has been spotted, the stalk is on. This is a very active hunt for the archer and a great long-range game for the rifle hunt, but the shot distance is 100% at the comfort level of the hunter.
Accommodations are cabin-style right on the property, and home-cooked meals will fill your day. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone looking for a low-pressure personal outdoor experience with great trophy potential. Because of the limited tags, these hunts go fast, so please plan ahead and contact your WTA consultant today.
