August & September: Archery

Central Wyoming offers the discerning hunter a realistic opportunity at harvesting trophy pronghorn antelope in the 78+ inch class with many bucks breaking the magical 80 inch mark. Hunts within these areas will be conducted on large, private ranches where wildlife is valued and ever improving habitat projects are a priority. The outfitter is also permitted to hunt the surrounding public lands that are easily accessed through their private leases but often very difficult otherwise. The terrain encountered within the area will vary from boulder covered outcroppings, pine ridges and endless rolling hills that contain a variety of sagebrush with intermittent creeks.

This hunt will utilize traditional spot and stalk hunting methods. One can expect to utilize a pickup or UTV to travel from one glassing point to the next in conjunction with short hikes to prime glassing areas. September and early October hunts will take in the pre-rut/rut timeframe and bucks can be expected to stay on the move protecting their harem of does. As the rut concludes small herds will join into groups numbering into the hundreds as they work into their winter range. This timeframe should not be overlooked for those capable of shooting longer distances. All hunts will be heavily scouted for prior to your arrival. These practices ensure that near 100% success rates on trophy bucks are experienced by every client.

Lodging for this hunt will vary from very nice lodges, ranch houses or cabins depending on what area you will be hunting. If a certain lodging option is desired, please discuss this with a consultant prior to booking. Regardless of the lodging one can expect quality meals to be served throughout the hunt.

Wyoming operates on a hybrid draw system in which 75% of the available tags are awarded to whomever applies with the most points, the number of points needed will vary from 5-15 depending on the unit. The remaining 25% are awarded randomly to all other applicants that apply. This allows you to have a chance at drawing a tag any given year regardless of point status.
