November
Trophy Archery Mule Deer Hunt – Eastern Colorado Plains
Colorado’s Eastern Plains arguably offer serious bowhunters one of the best opportunities in the country to harvest a mature, trophy-class mule deer buck. This is largely due to the region being comprised of 99% private land. These expansive farms and ranches provide ideal habitat and refuge, allowing bucks to reach full maturity and exceptional antler potential.
Trophy expectations in this area are realistic in the 165″–185″ range, with 200″+ bucks harvested here every year.
Hunts are strategically scheduled during November to align with the peak of the rut. While in the field, you’ll primarily use pickups to move from one glassing point to the next in search of a quality buck. Once a target is located, the rolling terrain and intermittent cover make it possible to stalk in close — often requiring a combination of walking, crawling, and belly-dragging to get within bow range. Most shot opportunities occur at 40–60 yards.
Our experienced guides are passionate and experienced archers with deep knowledge of the area, maximizing your chances for a successful hunt.
This hunt does require a drawn tag. Historically, hunters have had 100% draw success with just one preference point. Landowner vouchers are sometimes available but not guaranteed. If you’re considering this hunt, you should be applying for preference points now.
