This combination hunt for trophy red stag, Himalayan tahr, and European Chamois takes place in the heart of some of the finest hunting in all of New Zealand. Located on the South Island not far from Queenstown, this 25 year plus vetern outfitter is a past SCI Hunter of the Year. This area offers some of the finest hunting for New Zealand’s most sought after trophies: red stag, tahr, and chamois. New Zealand is one of the premier hunting destinations for those seeking the ultimate in not only hunting, but non hunting activities as well. It’s a great destination to bring your spouse and even the entire family. This location is right in the heart of some of the best hunting in all of New Zealand, with premier red stag properties as well as tahr and chamois hunting right out the back door! Stag hunts take place from February through July with the roar taking place from about mid March through April. However, the hunting for these majestic animals is excellent all season long! The terrain varies from rolling brush covered hills to mountainous valleys. The Himalayan tahr is one of New Zealand’s most desired animals. It is also one of the most difficult trophies to obtain as they live in the most remote parts of the southern Alps. Due to the steep terrain and unpredictable weather, helicopters are used to access these remote valleys. Chamois were introduced to New Zealand in the early 1900’s and have thrived in this terrain and climate. They are a very agile and elusive animal and will test the ability of every trophy hunter. New Zealand also offers exceptional waterfowl hunting from late May through July. All hunting is over decoys on private lakes, ponds, and grain fields. The newer lodging provides superb accommodations with spacious and comfortable bedrooms and private baths. New Zealand offers so much more than just great hunting. Incredible scenery, sightseeing, shopping are all available nearby. This outfitter – owned hunting area and the properties they lease are located in the heart of some of the finest hunting on the South Island over 25 years of experience . The staff and guide team are second to none and promise to provide an incredible experience.

*SAMPLE ITINERARY
Day 1 – Depart States and fly to Auckland, NZ. You will arrive two days after you departed the States. After clearing customs, you will take a connecting flight to Queenstown on the South Island. We recommend overnighting at a local hotel and relax to help acclimate to the time change. WTA can assist with all flights ond hotel recommendations.
Day 2 – You will be picked up by your outfitter and transferred to the lodge this afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Days 3,4,5 – Hunt for Red Stag.
Day 6 – Depart Queenstown and return home. You will arrive back in the States the same day you left New Zealand.
