This moose hunt is a 10-day fly-in hunt in the Western Alaska Range. Dates range from September 1st through September 20th. We use a charter flight out of Anchorage to access this magnificent wilderness and fly into the hunting area by super cub to base camp. Here we use a large tent with good creature comforts and travel by foot daily to glass for moose. We use calling and glassing as the most effective way to locate bulls. We occasionally set up moose float hunts if we see a bull in an area we need to reach this way. These hunts are scheduled for 10 days with one day being used as a travel day to and from the area of the hunt. Hunt cost includes food, tent, qualified/experienced guide, and super cub flight to and from the hunting area. The roundtrip charter flight (paid separately) gets you in and out of the field with your moose. You can trophy on grizzly if an additional tag is purchased prior to leaving Anchorage.
We maintain an average of 60″ plus on trophy bulls. In addition, we see wolves, wolverine, and black bear during many hunts. As you can see, the genetics on our bull moose are very good and they come in all shapes and sizes with great character. All our guides are dedicated, avid hunters/guides who work hard and look forward to your success. In addition, no wolf tags are required in our area. Pilots have been chosen very carefully making sure they are safe and have thousands of hours of bush flying experience in Alaska and know the area well. We’ve been flying with the same super cub pilots for 15+ years.
Camp is generally a larger 4–6 man tent with a small heater to take the chill off or dry things out. Food is mostly freeze-dried. Breakfast tends to be eggs and oatmeal or freeze-dried breakfast food. Lunch is a snack bag, and cheese and summer sausage. The evening meal is usually freeze-dried. And we like to gorge on fresh-cooked moose meat and cheese and tortillas once we harvest the moose.
Moose hunting can be physically challenging. We are generally hiking to a vantage point each day to glass or call for moose or bears. The average altitude is approximately 2,000–3,000 feet above sea level. The ground can be uneven as it is without trails. Hunters will usually only carry a day pack with food for the day, water, rain gear, and rifle, etc.

Hunters can expect to stay in a tent camp, often times in less than perfect weather. For this reason it is critical to plan accordingly. We will discuss necessary provisions.
Upon Arrival in Anchorage, Hunters will be greeted by one of our guides. They will then overnight and the following day make their way by bush plane to the hunting area.
