Archery Deer
Early – Mid September
Rifle Deer
Mid-September – Early October
This veteran outfitter has a proven track record of harvesting trophy-class mule deer in Western Wyoming’s renowned Regions G and H. With multiple camps available, each one is limited to just two hunters per week, ensuring exclusive access to the best hunting areas and strategic management. The focus is on targeting mature, trophy-class bucks and providing the highest quality mule deer hunting experience possible.
Hunts are aimed at mature bucks in the 170-190+ range. The outfitter conducts thorough scouting of each area before the season, a key factor behind the high success rates during these hunts. Archery, crossbow (which can be used during archery season), and rifle hunts are available in both Regions. Hunters can expect to leave camp each morning on horseback or trailer horses to outlying trailheads, then proceed on foot from there. This method helps spread out hunters and reduces pressure on the game compared to hunting the same areas repeatedly. The use of horses is nearly mandatory due to the vast, roadless mountain terrain. These hunts can also be physically demanding, so be prepared to tackle steep mountains and hikes into areas that horses cannot access.
Regardless of your weapon choice, all hunts will be conducted using spot-and-stalk techniques. Rifle hunters should be ready for shots up to 400+ yards, while archers can expect opportunities in the 40-70 yard range. Over the past 10+ years, shot opportunities have been consistently high across all hunts.
Both road-accessible and ride-in camps are available. Road-accessible camps feature individual wall tents on hardwood decks, each outfitted with a real bed, lighting, and wood heat. Ride-in camps require a 1-3 hour horseback ride to access. These camps include individual tents with cots, foam mattresses, and wood stoves.
All camps include wall-tent accommodations with wood stoves. Road-accessible camps provide complete bath and shower facilities, while the remote camps are rustic yet comfortable.
For Region H licenses, it typically takes around 5 preference points to draw in the “special” category. Region G licenses generally require about 9 preference points in the “special” category to guarantee a draw.
