Unit 123 in the Rochelle hills of Wyoming is one of the most coveted tags in the state. This unit is only open to trophy bulls once every three years. The state implemented a 5 point or less hunt every year to help manage the herd and to maintain the genetics. There are two ways to hunt this unit. You can draw the tag, which usually requires max points. Or, you can purchase a commissioner tag at an auction. This unit has produced some great bulls over the years, and our outfitter has some of the best private land in the unit. Another great feature of this hunt is you get to hunt with a rifle in the bugle. The rifle season opens September 1st and closes October 15. Trophy expectations are 340-360 with the possibility of bigger bulls.
This hunt is scheduled for 7 days but the outfitter will allow additional days if needed. The ranch is 50,000 acres. There is a mixture of open prairie, rough cuts and buttes, and timbered ridges. This area is accessible by pickup or UTV. Physically almost anyone can do this hunt. Meals and lodging included. If you are interested please call WTA TAG 800-755-8247.
