Moose Season:
Hunt Dates:
The Alaska-Yukon Moose is one of the most sought-after big game trophies in North America, arguably the world. The lower reaches of the Yukon River in Western Alaska boast some of the best moose habitat and highest concentrations in the state and is best accessed by boat via the countless tributaries and sloughs that feed the Yukon River drainage.
We offer riverine hunts on the lower reaches of the Yukon and Innoko Rivers in Game Management Unit 21E. This is a fully guided and outfitted hunt. These are 10-day 1 x 1 guided hunts that can be extended within the season as needed. Fall season starts September 5th and ends September 25th. We hunt no more than four guided moose hunts per season keeping our footprint small ensuring our guests get the personalized service one should expect from a world class outfitter. We hunt from a comfortable base camp along the river with heated tents, daily hot meals staffed by a knowledgeable crew making your hunt truly special. Striking out daily via boat in search of trophy bulls. Wolf and Black bears may be taken at no additional cost with possession of proper tags. Grizzly bear may be taken with possession of the proper tag and trophy fee prior to
hunt.
After years of guiding moose hunts via Super Cub into spike camps on the tundra and mountain ridges we sought an alternative to those arduous hunts for our clients. Riverine hunts allow you and your guide to explore hundreds of miles of exceptional moose habitat that would not be possible on foot. You will have an opportunity to see many shooter bulls in your time with us allowing you to find the bull that speaks to you!
Moose are spotted on the riverbanks and shots taken while the boat is drifting or from shore in. We will also land the boat along the riverbanks to scrape and call into swamps and meadows in search of bulls that hang in the willows just off the river’s edge. Most bulls are taken on or near the riverbank or within a couple hundred yards from the boat in adjacent swamps or meadows. This makes for short stalks and easy pack outs that are
easy on the knees.
In this area of Western Alaska, you can expect trophy class bulls in the 55″-70″ range. This hunt is one of the most sought-after moose draw hunts in Alaska and we are fortunate to have maintained a 100% success rate for our guided clients. This draw hunt area requires a signed guide client agreement to apply keeping the pool of hunters who can apply very small resulting in very high draw rate. We will work with you to submit the application on your behalf taking away any confusion of how to apply. (Can be applied for as a party hunt for a group of two with even higher draw rate).
Wolf and Black bears may be taken at no additional cost with possession of proper tags.
