Maine Hunting Information
- Point System: Maine has a bonus point system in place. You will receive one extra chance for 0-5 years of applying, two extra chances for 6-10 years of applying, three extra chances for 11-15 years of applying, and 10 extra chances for 16+ years of applying. Applicants may also purchase unlimited raffle chances to further increase their odds of drawing.
- License Purchase Yes/No: No
- Party Applications: Applicants may add a sub-permittee (party member) on their application. If drawn, this would allow either the successful applicant or the sub-permittee to harvest the moose. However, only one moose may be harvested by either the successful applicant or the sub-permittee.
- Hunter’s Safety Card Requirement: Applicants born after January 1, 1973 must have a hunter’s safety card in their possession while afield.
- Youth: A child of any age can apply for a Maine moose tag as long as he/she has a valid hunter’s safety card. Youth hunters under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult while afield.
