Is Tarpon on your Bucket List?
If so, then a visit to this four-star jungle lodge in the Costa Rican rainforest is a must do! There may be no other place on the planet that offers more consistent fishing for these giant silver kings than Costa Rica’s Atlantic coast. In fact, the fishing seems to be getting better! A trip here will typically yield multiple 100 pound plus tarpon and reports of double-digit fish days have been reported. The fishing can be productive year-round with prime months from February – May and again from mid August through October.
Lodging is more than comfortable and features double occupancy guest rooms with private bath, a large dining room that serves plenty of mouth-watering meals plus a full bar and swimming pool. A typical day begins with a light knock at your door and the aroma of freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee. After a light breakfast, your guide will be waiting for you as you head down to the mouth of the river and out to sea in search of tarpon. After a full morning on the water you’ll return to the lodge for lunch, a soak in the Jacuzzi (to soothe those aching muscles) and a light siesta, then it’s back out for a late afternoon on the water. The lodge offers 3, 4, and 7 day all-inclusive packages and is just a quick flight from San Jose. As an added bonus, these jungle rivers are also home to world-record class Atlantic snook!
