Colorado Elk, Mule Deer or Elk/Mule Deer Combo
Or Call: 1-800-346-8747
This is a family owned hunting operation located in northwestern Colorado. Their family outfitting goes back four generations. They control properties totalling 15,000 private acres with prime opportunities for both elk and mule deer.
Expect a high-success hunt for mature, six-point bulls scoring 300" with the occasional opportunity at 330"+ bulls. Archery elk tags, and 2nd and 3rd season rifle elk tags, can be purchased over-the-counter. 1st and 4th season rifle elk tags must be applied for by early April, but have 100% drawing odds. Muzzleloader elk tags must be applied for by early April and take two preference ponts to draw. Also, combination hunting for elk and mule deer can be excellent. Mule deer numbers are decent and bucks of the 170" caliber are a resonable expectation. In fact, it is not uncommon to to see a buck scoring 185+ during the course of your hunt. All mule deer tags must be applied for by the early April deadline. 2nd and 3rd season rifle mule deer tags are 100% draw. Archery and muzzleloader mule deer tags take one preference point to draw. The WTA TAGS professional licensing service can assist you with these applications. Landowner vouchers can also be purchased from the outfitter for a $1,000 to $2,000 premium allowing you to circumvent the draw.
This outfitter employs a professional and experienced staff with guides that know rifle, muzzleloader and archery hunting very well. All of their guides are local and know the area well. Each of them are seasoned veterans with years of experience. They are professionals at spot-and-stalk, at strategic stand placement, and are all experienced callers. They take a limited number of hunters each year to manage their game and provide a quality hunting experience.
The camp consists of small, very rustic cabins with rustic bathroom and shower facilities. Meals are conducted out of a very spacious wall tent. The "matron" of this team spends months methodically preparing the meals and you can expect to eat very well. Airport pick-up is included from Grand Junction, CO. Because this is a family run operation, you'll feel like you're right at home.
