Montana Hunting Information
With three different application deadlines and different point systems in place, Montana can confuse even the most engaged of applicants.
The TAGS program at Worldwide Trophy Adventures can save you time, frustration, and money when applying in Montana.
When applying for Montana’s Big Game Combination, Elk Combination, or Deer Combination license, the $50 preference point fee is voluntary and generally not needed. Therefore, WTA TAGS does not charge its clients this $50 state fee. One of these three tags must be applied for by the applicant (at 100% draw typically) to then have their name entered into the Special Permit Area Draw for either or both of these species. If not drawn for a Special Permit Area, the general tag can either be used in general areas of the state or be returned for an 80% refund. WTA TAGS can help you through this entire process.
When applying for the Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep species, the world class rams of Montana seem to be on the forefront of everybody’s mind. Besides holding some of the largest rams on the planet, Montana also has relatively high tag availability for the non-resident. With 10 to 15 non-resident permits given annually, this is a “must apply state” for Rockies.
Montana is known for its 40″ Shiras moose and typically issues the highest number of non-resident mountain goat tags annually.
So whether you have your sights set on the goats of the prairie, the giant rams of the backcountry, or something in between, WTA TAGS can handle all the paperwork and help you make sense out of a maze of regulation. Just give us a call today and we’ll help you on your way.
