March – May (5 day hunts)
Turkey hunters, if you’re finally ready for that memorable adventure in the jungles of southern Mexico, we have teamed up with one of the most respected, most professional outfitters in the region. Some of the species found in their 200,000-acre hunting area include ocellated turkey, great curassow, crested guan, tinamu, chachalaca, forest cougar, and red & brown brocket deer. Success for most jungle species is high on this longer hunt, and in most seasons they produce 100% success on ocellated turkey.
Hunt takes place in one of the largest jungle masses in the world. Besides the South of Campeche and Quintana Roo, it includes the East of Tabasco, the Lacondonian Jungle of Chiapas, the Peten region of Guatemala, Belize, and the North part of Honduras. Below you will see various species available to hunt that most likely you have not seen or heard of before. This is one of the many reasons why this hunt is one of very high demand!
The hunt area is a conjunction of tropical forests ranging from high, medium and low jungles, with a biodiversity that sustains one of the largest range of animal species: from big cats like the jaguar, the ocelot, the little tiger cat and the jaguarundi to rare animals like the tapir or the ant eater. Howler monkeys, spider monkeys, crocodiles, and more 400 species of birds are also part of the vast biodiversity found in this marvelous land.
From the states, you will fly to Mexico City where you will then catch a connecting flight to Campeche City and need to overnight. You will need to be in Campeche on a Saturday. The following Sunday, at 10AM, you will be met by the outfitter for a five hour drive to his jungle camp (two hours on the highway, two hours on jungle road). You will begin your hunting adventure this evening and hunt through the following Saturday morning. After your Saturday morning hunt you will be taken back to Campeche where you will overnight and/or begin your return trip home.
