Boy, do I wish I had an elk tag in my pocket for this upcoming season! After the severe drought and dismal antler growth year of 2018, this upcoming hunting season is shaping up to be incredible! The majority of the Western states have seen consistent moisture from an above average snow pack to timely Spring rains, and the Summer monsoons in the southwest are in full swing. I know here in western Nebraska, as I look out of my office window, it looks more like early May than late July. The animals have great feed and are packing on the weight as they head into the September rut. Archery season is right around the corner!
